Everything you need to know:

Opening Times

Weekdays: 9am-10pm

Weekends: 9am-8pm

Prices

One-off, unsupervised, climbs:

£6-£9 depending on age, concession etc. There are no sign up fees, registration fees etc. We're not pirates.

Regular climbing:

If you're going to be climbing regularly, or semi regularly, we've a range of great deals to lower the cost per climb - full access memberships cost £24-£34 per month, or there are 5 and ten visit passes if you come less than once per week on average.

Other costs:

  • If you need to hire equipment, we have it available, from £2 for a harness and belay device through to a £5 package that includes shoes, chalk, harness & belay.
  • If you want coffee or food, and lets face it, why wouldn't you - we've got your perfect fix. Snacks start at climber prices and end at pub food prices. Not those gastro pub prices - we're not pirates. You can check out our menu here
  • We can't account for the cost of you finding your true calling here. Typical costs of a Three Wise Monkeys induced mid-life crisis range from selling the car to quitting your job. We have a handy template 'sorry boss I'm becoming a professional climber' letter here.

Facilities

The main event:

  • Our bouldering wall has 10 graded circuits, our standard circuits build up in overlapping grade bands so there's always something to have a go at at any grade, even when a circuit is down for washing. As well as the normal graded circuits, we have two ungraded (or ungradeable) comp style circuits that are set year round. To finish off, one of our circuits is set especially with little ones in mind. You'll find a minimum of 70 individually set problems changed on a monthly basis here.
  • Our roped climbing wall has 25 roped lines with routes to 12metres high, all equipped for leading and most with in-situ top ropes (you can remove these to lead using your own ropes if you prefer). We set grades from 3 to 8a, with a leaning towards the more technical, sustained and fun to work style of climbing. You'll be sure to find an ideal project for your session here.

The support act:

Our old church has been converted lovingly into the best climber experience we could possibly squeeze in. There are ample toilets, spaces for changing, bag storage, lockers, a proper cafe and spaces to chill out.  We have an electric vehicle charging station. Nearby we run Yoga Classes, where you can improve your physical and mental flexibility to help your climbing.

Checking in:

Like all Climbing Walls, you have to register to use the centre

But we don't like it. We've tried to make our sign in process as painless as possible - everything in our process is necessary, or there because we think it gets you into the groove of our centre quicker, so you can have a better session. Here are some of the things that are maybe different to centres you've been too before:

  • We'll get you to fill out a form tailored to your situation - you shouldn't need to wade through loads of drivel before you can get started
  • We've kept our terms and conditions lean and light
  • We fully register everyone that visits - once you're in the system, you're in forever. If we have to make an update, you'll only need to acknowledge those updates, not complete the whole process again.
  • We get you to carry out skills demos for using the roped wall - we want to see you belay safely (using your preferred method and equipment) and tie in (using any recognizable climbing knot)
  • Any competent adult climber can sign in two guests - there's a special form for this.
  • There are specific procedures for bringing in groups as an instructor - you'll need to provide us with copies of your certificates, insurance and first aid, as well as completing a full registration for yourself - once you're in, we keep these details on file - so you can get sorted ahead of your visit.

Instructed Sessions

If you aren't already a climber, want to double check your skills or are keen to progress to the next level, we would love to help.

We started our climbing centre to help people become the best versions of themselves. sometimes that means helping to expand peoples comfort zones on a try the ropes course, sometimes it means high-end coaching for the elite athlete. Our taster and try the ropes sessions are available as standard, and you can book them here. To find out how we can help progress your climbing, give us a call to speak with one of our knowledgeable staff and we can tailor a course to your needs.

How To Find Us

We're in Fort William, on Fassifern Road. You can access the centre from Fassifern Road, or up steps directly from Fort William High Street.

By Car

We have limited on-site parking and an area of land next-door where our regulars often park. Follow postcode PH33 6QX and look for bright orange signs.

If this parking is full, please do not park on single yellow lines immediately outside our centre - our road is regularly patrolled by parking wardens, and the road is required to be kept clear. Your nearest car park is Viewforth - only a 1 minute drive away. You may also find limited on street parking uphill from the centre in a residential area, please obey traffic signage and park considerately to locals.

There are two nearby public car parks,

  • The West End car-park is just off of the first roundabout you see coming into Fort William from the South. From there, walk into town, turning right in front of the Travelodge and follow Fassifern road uphill to our centre.
  • Viewforth Car Park is central to town, just behind the High Street. From the North, turn left off the A82 just after passing the Belford hospital on your left, then turn left again. Follow this road to a crossroads, with the carpark straight ahead. There are steps heading uphill at the far end of the high street, follow these and turn right to arrive at our centre.

If you get lost on the way - give us a call on 01397600200 and we can direct you.

By Public Transport:

Fort William is well served by bus and train - alight at the Fort William Bus or Train Station then walk towards the town centre, through the pedestrian underpass. Follow the high street, passing Cameron Square, into Monzie Square by the Highland Bookshop - you can see us in the old church up the hill, steps lead from Monzie Square up to Fassifern Road where you'll find our entrance.
